Pearls, leather and lipstick

It's my firm belief that some days you just need to be fabulous. Today is one of those days. I spent most of the day waiting for the decorator doing dissertation work, yawn, so when I left the house I wanted to get as dressed up as I could get away with. I unleashed my inner Carrie and threw on my old pearls (how cool does she look in the film when she wore a fur coat, PJs and pearls, swoons.) Even though I only popped to the library, Lush and Boots, it certainly perked up an otherwise dull rainy Friday. I also put on my Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in shade 19 and completely forgot how much I love it, perfect day colour!

They're soo 2011 ~

Continuing from my post about shopping the stash, (which now is my favourite thing ever, may I add) I bring you these unloved poor boots. As weird as it may seem to remember exactly when I bought them, it was August 2011, and they've still not been worn until today. I adored them when I bought them, then my cousin told me they looked like big man boots, which put me off. But, hey, if I like big man boots, I'll wear big man boots. And here they are! This is the first time in a long time I've worn an outfit that is entirely Primark, but I like it. Also, I only took two photos of this outfit, and didn't realise I had a stupid facial expression until after I'd changed out of it. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Shopping the stash

After discovering I had two big Ikea bags full of clothes I don't want, yes two, I was left with a lot of guilt. Guilt especially when I realised I'd had a skirt I'd bought from Berlin last August and still not got around to tailoring to fit me. It was from a sweet little second hand shop type place and although I knew it'd be far too big for me I loved the print and length so couldn't leave it. After a quick sew, seriously it took me about 10 minutes and I've been putting it off for over a year, I now love my 'new' skirt. Because it's quite a statement peice for me, I put it with a black tshirt and tan brogues so it wasn't 'too much.' With that said, I think it's always best to wear clothes that aren't your usual style when you're in a comfortable position. What you might feel great in to go for a cup of tea with a friend, might feel awful on a first date. On a completely different topic, I bowed down to peer pressure and bought The Fault in Our Stars. I can't decide if I like it yet, it's very teen angst, but I guess it's well written teen angst.

The dress that everyone has

dress: Topshop - Sandals: Primark - Rucksack: River Island

A combination of lots of shifts at work, my skin becoming awful, and not having a clue what the weather will do from hour to hour, my outfits have become pretty dull and safe. This dress in particular is really easy to throw on and be ready to go. Ever since it went into the sale for £20, I've seen so so many people wearing it, but it isn't crazily short on anyone a normal height, unlike myself! As bad as it is to say, I'm looking forward to being able to wear this with Primark cosy tights and some chunky boots, sorry summer.

Sad songs

Quickly becoming one of my favourite tops ever, is this tshirt from Me & Yu. I saw this top in Afflecks Palace more than a year ago, and kept putting it off for no reason at all. I went last week and checked to see if they still had it, when I couldn't find it for a while I was gutted. When I finally found it, I knew how much I must have wanted it! Me & Yu are a brand that hand print all of their tshirts, the quality of the fabric and production is lovely. I couldn't recommend them more, i'm definitely wanting to purchase a few more from the collection! There really is something to be said for buying from independent designers like Me & Yu, you know you'll get something more unique and better quality than Topshop (no offence Topshop, luv u 4eva)
I guess I also love this tshirt, because I relate to it so much, (yes I do feel like I'm having 15 year old teen angst saying that, sorry!) If you follow me on twitter, you'll probably have gathered by now that my favourite band are Bon Iver, I saw them live last year and it was perfect. I also love artists/bands like Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Joe Banfi, Keaton Henson, Glasvegas, Nick Mulvey, Bat For Lashes, Daughter etc etc. Although constantly listening to music like Keaton Henson should have me pretty down, it actually really chills me out.
Anyway, back to the tshirt! I wore this outfit to visit friends in Chester (which I'll also be blogging about) as it's the perfect comfy throw on outfit for travelling and rainy weather. I love how the converse and nail varnish (Essie, Naughty Nautical) break up the monochrome of the outfit, just because the sky is black, doesn't mean I have to be. I obviously wore it with my favourite Chloetea necklace, but I think I might have too many words on me. Along with my lyrics tattoo on my back, I'm a walking notebook in this outfit!

Are you getting enough

Nails: Models Own Utopia and Party Pieces
Lipstick - Rimmel Lasting Finish shade 19
Jacket: Zara - Leggings: Topshop - Bag: Zara - Tshirt: Primark

My new house doesn't yet have the wifi set up, so I'm currently typing this up in Starbucks, (yes I am one of those people.) And I've also used the Starbucks wifi to get Professor Green tickets, I am so so excited! I saw him on the tour with the second album and it was really good, I hope it's as good this year! Anyway, this is what I wore, I bought this jacket from the Zara sale for £12 reduced from £40 and I really love it! I'm not sure what else I could wear it with apart from just all black, but I'm sure I'll find something else. I'm all settled into my new house now, and I have a little room tour post planned if anyone would be interested?

Anchor for my soul

Hello! This is the first outfit post I've done in so so long! I couldn't be bothered to set up my tripod and charge my decent camera so these are just a few shots taken on my iPhone. Sometimes I think full length photographs are best to see the whole outfit, but I really like the outfit posts on Hello Chloe Rose where she focuses more on the little details of the outfit that put it together. I'm wearing quite a simple outfit today, I'm out for coffee with a friend in a little place by Whitworth Park in Manchester, then attempting to sort out which clothes I want to get rid of on eBay. Anything I've not worn for more than six months, I'm just going to get rid of. Anyway, the top I'm wearing is from Forever 21, I love how the chiffon shoulders make it a bit more dressy than just a grey baggy tshirt. Also, you might notice the ever so gorgeous Zara Office City bag. I'm so in love with it, I'm going to do a proper post just about this bag soon. Its my baby. I'm going off on a ramble again so I'll stop here, hope you're all ok!

Don't tell me our youth is running out, its only just begun

flatforms: Primark - skirt: vintage - crop top: Primark - bag: H&M

This is what I wore to go out for cocktails with my housemates a few nights ago, I completely forgotten I'd bought this skirt (I've worn it once, to Ikea, with my mom, what a waste!) I've fell back in love with it, it the right amount of high waisted to look nice with a crop top. This night was also the first night my flatforms, ie favourite things ever, made an outing. They're the perfect balance of casual and dressy and go with everything, luv u primark. I've had the bag around a month now, it reminds me of a Mulberry that I really like, but only £15 from H&M!

I got some new shoes on, and suddenly everything's right

(Primark, £10)
I would like to introduce you to my new babies. After Louise instgrammed them, I knew I needed them, so bought them the next day (obsessive hey.) Having size eight feet, I've never been a shoe person, I only bought my first pair of heels just before freshers week! But these have definitely turned me into a shoe person, I want to wear them constantly!

Hey May

I know this post looks a bit weird, but I have a spot that the internet could not handle. I swear, I have lived on this world for 20 years and never had one this big. Please comment with remedies! But I realised I hadn't posted an outfit in so long and this is probably the first time I've dressed really summery this year! I'm even only wearing a cardi out, bravery and optimism at its best. I don't really need to say where the skirt is from, it's the denim Topshop skater skirt that every one and their cat has (how cute would that be) and the top is a really old New Look one. The polish is Essie Fuji, I love it so much, going to wear it so much this summer! I'm going to a museum to volunteer all day today, an actual 8 hour shift, wish me luck! (Only getting a Costa because there's no Starbucks by the museum, first world problems)

Opinions?

I have absolutely no idea why the long distance photos are STILL in such bad quality, I have a decent camera (a Fugifilm bridge if you're interested) but I have no idea how to use it clearly! I need to have a play with focuses and the like I think. This post is to mainly ask for your opinion on my hair like this, I need some sort of hairstyle to keep my fringe out of my face while it goes through the awkward growing out stage! It was insanely annoying in the wind as it kept falling out, but with enough hairspray I can just about manage. Does it look stupid? I want to wear it in some other way than a topknot otherwise there was no point in having it dyed! Also, I have a hair care post coming up in the next few days as I finally managed to track down the 60 second Platinum Strength shot from Tresemme! As a general life update, I started volunteering at my absolute favourite museum today and it was so much fun, so I wore this dress as I had no idea whether to be smart or casual and this is somewhere in between I think! And thank you for all you lovely lot that follow me on GFC, can't believe more than 70 people want to see these awful photos and hear what I have to say, I really appreciate it.

Be the girl you loved

I wasn't going to blog at all today, as this is a very average outfit and it was a very average day (apart from that I saw Antiques Road Trip being filmed!!! - that doesn't count as exciting to 99.9% of people, I am aware of this.) But I was waiting for the plumber to come and go so I could go out (again with the excitement, calm down Chlo) so was very very bored! I bought this top from a vintage stall in Liverpool, and found out after seeing it in one of Lily Melroses posts that it's quite new and actually from River Island! I only paid £5! Teamed with my Primark dip hem skirt I stopped wearing for ages for no apparent reason because I love it.
P.S I only included a photo of my very unphotogenic face this close up as I was that bored I even included highlighter (Benefit High Beam to be precise) into my make up routine.

Fail For You

Bad quality photos on blogs really annoy me and now I keep uploading them! My camera refuses to focus when I'm far from the camera. (If it bothers you as much as it bothers me, comment and I'll make more effort to focus my camera!)
ANYWAY. This is quite a simple outfit I guess, black, white and grey aren't the most exciting colours I own. I bought this blazer recently from Primark reduced from £30 to £10 after seeing it on an I Covet Thee haul video and I'm so glad I bought it as I nearly didn't! I've got a feeling it will go with quite a lot of my clothes and it looks smart without being uncomfortable. I put the Rimmell Lycra Pro polish on as it only needs one coat and I was in a rush! I wore this to the Raquib Shaw exhibition at the Manchester Art Gallery and to the library to get started on my dissertation, scary! Also, I'm wearing some of my new Dainty Doll make up in these photos which I will blog about soon.
