Fail For You

Bad quality photos on blogs really annoy me and now I keep uploading them! My camera refuses to focus when I'm far from the camera. (If it bothers you as much as it bothers me, comment and I'll make more effort to focus my camera!)
ANYWAY. This is quite a simple outfit I guess, black, white and grey aren't the most exciting colours I own. I bought this blazer recently from Primark reduced from £30 to £10 after seeing it on an I Covet Thee haul video and I'm so glad I bought it as I nearly didn't! I've got a feeling it will go with quite a lot of my clothes and it looks smart without being uncomfortable. I put the Rimmell Lycra Pro polish on as it only needs one coat and I was in a rush! I wore this to the Raquib Shaw exhibition at the Manchester Art Gallery and to the library to get started on my dissertation, scary! Also, I'm wearing some of my new Dainty Doll make up in these photos which I will blog about soon.

Song of the post

This is a bit of a weird post, I was going to take outfit photos of my new Ombre jumper but I completely forgot. These are just a few photos from my day today, I volunteered at a museum, had an interview at another one (which I got), went to a gorgeous library to do some Uni work and went to Cath Kidston. Busy bee! This post is titled "Song of the post" as it's a new feature I thought of having on my blog, it will be at the end of the post with the title and artist of a song that either suits the theme of the post, a new track that I'm loving or an old one that I love. What do you think? Is it silly? I can't think of a proper name for it which is a bit annoying but it will do. I'm going to enjoy sharing my music anyway!
Also, can you spot me in these photos? Made me laugh so much! And while you're here don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin!    Follow on Bloglovin

Pesky Google

I love the word "pesky", there is something brilliant about it but I can't decide what. Reminds me of "I would of got away with it if it wasn't for those meddling kids"
Wow, that was a tangent, sorry, basically Google are pesky. Getting rid of GFC like that! I'm really not a massive fan of Bloglovin, I don't really understand it but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. So anyway, apologies on your feed for what must be 289358298 posts of the same thing, but here you have it! Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Right, now to the interesting bit. Lectures got cancelled last minute this morning so I got to sit in bed on my laptop and then met friends in Trof for lunch and green tea. I've got so much on at the minute it was nice to have a relaxed morning for a little while!  Here are the few things I picked up from Forever 21 on my birthday (post linked here.) I absolutely love the shirt, it's a bit brighter than I wanted originally, but it's a really pretty colour. I really like how the studs aren't gold or silver, makes them more subtle.
As a little extra point, I had such a good response to my post about talking about music, thank you so much! You are right, it is my little part of the internet, I should write about what I care about.

Not Nineteen Forever

I have had such a good birthday, it's been so fun. We went for cocktails n northern quarter last night and shopping in the Trafford Centre today. Perfect yes? I got a few bits from Forever Twenty one which i'll blog about soon and I've finally bought myself a Cath Kidston mug after wanting one for months. Thought I'd share a few pictures, it's nice to blog about something a bit more personal rather than just reviews or whatever every once in a while! There are lots more photos on my instagram which is linked here if you'd like to have a nose!

WHO RUNS THE WORLD?

Emmeline Pankhurst, the true riot grrl,
Lauren Conrad, she's just so damn quoteable. "do you really want to change everything you believe in just cause some guy's pressuring you?

Kate Nash, her new album says it all.
Caitlin Moran, bringing feminism to the masses

Being a woman is a powerful thing. I adore the extent that that has been celebrated today on International Women’s Day, it’s really got me thinking about which women I am inspired by. I’m including photos of celebrities like Caitlin Moran and Kate Nash, but I’m mostly inspired by those women who do something to change something, even the smallest thing. I am most inspired by bravery; it is still a tough sexist world to make an impact and even small things like women being independent and having freedom inspires me. I sometimes think the blogging world is dangerous to young women as it has potential to make them feel like the shade of your blusher and the brand of your handbag is what defines you; the mould that bloggers sometimes strive to fit into, just to get more views than they would otherwise scares me. The obsession with self-image on the internet is a damaging thing, sometimes we need to turn off the screens, remember who we are and what we can do outside of the wardrobe and make up bag.

Directions

I will get this look!

Don't even know why I try blogging I'm the most unphotogenic person ever ever (I only had eyeliner on!)

I wish I could brave a Zoe LDN look, but I'm no where near brave enough, and with volunteering and working, I don't think they'd appreciate me walking in with bright pink hair (as much as I'd love to) so maybe I should settle for a Heather from Effies Make Up Box type look, I love her hair colour/style/everthing. I keep saying that I'm having a pre-graduating mid-life crisis. After I graduate and enter the real world I can't have crazy hair or whatever I want, scary.
I put on a dye from superdrug before Christmas, and I did really love it but it wasn't bright enough at all, but for the cost of it I can't really complain. Seeing as I was putting it on top of a dark colour rather than a blonde, it was never going to be that bright.
I picked up a Directions pot from Afflecks Palace however, and really loved it! I think the two times I've used it I diluted it with conditioner far too much, so it didn't make a huge impact to what I already had, but because of it only being semi permanent and compared to permanent shades quite good for my hair, I don't really mind doing it a few times a month to keep it topped up. I might have another go soon not diluting it anywhere near as much to see what happens! As much as I love having long hair, it is only hair. It will grow back, eventually!

(p.s, I didn't wash the conditioner out properly in my roots, so put a bit of dry shampoo on, it's not actually grey at the roots!)

Falling

These treggings are my second favourite purchase I've bought in so so long, the first being my iPhone 4S. They fit so well and (sorry for sounding big headed ew) make my figure look alright, you can't really tell in these photos but they go up to about my belly button-ish (the technical term!) They're sort of exactly the same as disco pants fit wise, but just not shiny, which is the only thing I don't really like about disco pants. I was after some ages ago and had a day hunting some down in Trafford Centre, and left with high waisted jeans from Miss Selfridge instead. As much as my jeans are really so similar, sometimes skinny jeans are just too uncomfortable!
There are things I've learnt from taking these photos, 1) I don't know how to use my new Tripod, 2) my boyfriend's right - I do have old lady hands 3) I should of wrapped up more today, it's still not warm enough!
Anyway, I've had such a good day today so far, you know when everything starts to slot into place, lots of exciting things coming up in the next few months, daunting but so exciting. I think it's officially spring now with all the sun the past few days, although it will probably snow next week to prove me wrong or something! But so far, 2013 is looking so good!

Manchester, I love you

I've lived in Manchester for well over a year now and still haven't been to this beautiful part of the city. There is so much that is still on my to-do list but I'm glad to have ticked off such a lovely one today!
Because of time (and a bad choice of outfit, sunny yes, warm no) I didn't get to explore as much as I'd like but I visited the Salford Quays. I went specifically to see the Imperial War Museum, for research and generally for geeky activities, but it was also so cool to see the Lowry and the BBC building. I really need to keep up exploring the city I live in, I want to have seen everything by the time I finish Uni!

Studded George

Wish my hair was actually this colour, love you flash.

I wore this today to go to a museum exhibition, Nexus Arts Cafe and Barburrito, best day ever you say? This shirt is one of the most random finds ever, I was shopping for ages trying to find a nice black shirt, got fed up and went to Asda for snacks, just to find this in George for £6! It's really flimsy, you can tell it's cheap, but I love the studded buttons and how long it is.
Also, gained quite a few followers this week, hello!
(Sorry for being so lazy and using instagram photos, my camera was in my bag I just kept forgetting!)
